DIY Jewellery Hanger

The other day I was sorting through my jewellery box, as you do and I realised just how the box really did nothing to sort and organise my jewellery. Every time I do sort through everything and even after the untangling, I somehow always end up with the same mess a week or two later, with incomplete pairs of earrings and tangled necklaces. So I thought there must be a better way to sort jewellery and did a quick google search on how other people organised their jewellery. Many used some kind of store-bought rack, but if you're anything like me I like to use what I already have. So I made one.

This DIY is very simple, only takes a few minutes and the best part is you probably already have all the materials required sitting at home.

All you need is:
  • a coat hanger
  • a spiral from an old notebook or calender
  • pliers (optional)

Steps:
1. Open and remove the spiral, be sure not to twist it too much

2. Gently clasp the spiral so it is hooked onto the coat hanger

3. Stretch the spiral evenly so that it reaches beyond the curve of the coat hanger, this ensures that the spiral will not move around

 And you're done!

Your jewellery items are now secure, clutter free and most importantly visible at a glance, so no more having  to rummage through everything! Hang your jewellery anyway you want, you can even stretch the spiral more if you need more in between jewellery pieces, its flexible. What I love most about this jewellery hanger is that you can even hang stud earrings as I do tend to wear studs more than hoops. As with all jewellery hangers make sure that you don't hang too many necklaces next to each other as they will begin to tangle, separate them by hanging rings or earrings in between.

Hope you enjoyed this DIY tutorial. Be sure to let me know how it goes if you do try this out or if you have any questions. Of course, if you have an even better way of organising jewellery please share!
